Your practice data
Mental rotation uses your browser’s local storage to remember your chosen level, up to 50 recent results with their level, accuracy and date, and daily attempt counts used to vary the questions. These records remain until you or your browser clear them; newer results replace older ones in the 50-result history.
Visual memory and mental math keep the current session in the tab’s memory. Reloading or closing the page clears it. These two practices do not send answers or scores to our server.
All practices keep an active-time counter and a completed-question or pattern count in the current tab. Visual memory also counts tile selections and removals. These session counters are not uploaded or saved between visits.
The optional math scratchpad keeps drawing strokes in the tab’s memory. Closing the scratchpad keeps your notes for the current question. Moving to a new question, ending the practice, reloading or closing the page clears the notes. Drawing marks the current session as “With scratchpad”; neither the drawing nor that label is sent to our server.
After a completed mental-rotation round, the site sends the practice name, difficulty, accuracy and median answer time to our server. We store those values and a submission timestamp in a Cloudflare D1 database to compare rounds at the same difficulty. Score records contain no name, account identifier, raw IP address or browser user-agent. Individual answers are not submitted. Repeated rounds count as separate attempts, not separate people.
Hosting and request protection
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. It processes request information such as IP addresses and traffic and device details to deliver pages and manage security. Depending on the protection features used, it may set security cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and its security-cookie information.
Our server also uses your IP address to limit repeated requests. It converts the address into a salted code that changes daily and stores rate-limit information separately from scores. The application does not store the raw address in the score database. A hashed address still relates to a connection; it is not a guarantee of anonymity.
Keeping and removing information
You can remove local practice records by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. Blocking local storage stops mental rotation from remembering your level and history. Clearing browser data does not remove scores already sent to the server.
Stored rotation scores currently have no automatic expiry. Older rate-limit entries are cleaned up during later database activity, rather than at a guaranteed deletion time. Because scores are not linked to an account or a personal identifier, we may be unable to identify which submitted records are yours.
For a question or a request about information you have shared, email contact@studioam.art. If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments and use them to respond and investigate your request. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information.
Younger players
Younger people can use these practices. We do not ask players for a name, age, school or profile. If you are a child, ask a parent or guardian before emailing us, and do not send personal details about yourself or anyone else. Parents or guardians can use the contact address above to raise a concern about information a child has shared.
If we introduce advertising
Advertising is not active. We have requested Google AdSense review, but no Google advertising or advertising-consent scripts currently run on the site. The following describes a possible future setup, not data collection happening through ads today.
If we enable AdSense, Google and its advertising partners may receive information such as your IP address, the page you visit and browser details, and may use cookies, web beacons or other identifiers to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where permitted, personalize ads using visits to this and other sites. Read how Google uses information from partner sites.
Before enabling ads, we would update this page and put the applicable consent and privacy choices in place, including choices for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Any advertising setup would also need to account for younger players. Those controls have not yet been integrated or tested on this site.
You can learn about turning off personalized Google ads in Google’s ad settings, and other participating companies’ choices through Your Online Choices. Your browser also lets you manage cookies. Turning off personalization does not stop all advertising-related processing. See Google’s advertising information.
